These are the most frequent questions we are asked: Where will I get the mower sharpened? Most homeowners can go 2-5 years before sharpening unless you are cutting pinecones, leaves, sticks, acorns, pecans, walnuts, etc. There is at least one shop in most metropolitan areas who sharpen and adjust reels and bedknives - and just about every shop will know who that is if you ask. The local golf course maintenance area is also usually a place that offers this service.
Should I spend the extra money on the Honda GX-Series Industrial Engine?
The Honda GX-SERIES Industrial Engine is the Red & White workhouse which built Honda's reputation as the best engine available. Features include a cast-iron cylinder sleeve, ball-bearing supported crankshaft, and heavy-duty exhaust and carburetor components. The GX-Series is also equipped with the Honda Oil Alert System which shuts down the engine before a low oil situation can occur. Both the Honda and B&S Engines are industrial-grade engines which will provide an average of 3X the service life of a standard consumer grade engine you see in a department store.
How long will it take to receive my mower?
We ship 95% of orders from our Florida or California warehouse facility within 2 business days - shipping takes 2-4 days depending on your location. Most orders are delivered within one week.
Does the mower arrive completely assembled?
The mowers are 95% assembled and require only the handles and controls be installed. Plan on spending 60 minutes to read the manuals, complete the assembly, and service the engine by adding oil and fresh fuel.
Who will provide Warranty Service if needed?
The warranty ratio on McLane Products is less than 1%, or less than 1 of every 100 units. The McLane factory in California resolves all after-the-sale issues. In the rare instance you should require engine warranty service, the engine can be serviced by any of the 15,000 Authorized Honda or Briggs & Stratton dealers across the country.
Should I purchase the optional Front Roller Attachment? YES. The factory-installed grooved roller is far superior to aftermarket rollers which also VOID THE WARRANTY OF THE MCLANE REEL MOWER. Please do not add aftermarket accessories as they often do damage which can cause expensive repairs.
Can I speak with an Equipment Specialist before I buy? This is what we do best! We have more McLane product knowledge and experience than anyone. We have sold thousands of engine-powered reel mowers and can answer any question you may have.
How much is shipping? We pay 100% of shipping charges in 48 States. We charge no sales tax except to orders in Florida. Some orders are fulfilled by our dealer network to expedite delivery. Shipping to most areas of Hawaii is $249.
