These are the most frequent questions we are asked:

What is the difference between a 7-Blade and 10-Blade reel mower?

95% of the mowers we sell are the 7-Blade models, and we always suggest a 7-Blade to a new customer.

The only time we may suggest anything but a 7-Blade is when the customer will always be cutting below 1" or the mower is being used to maintain a putting green - in which case a 10-Blade Reel may be preferred. Both the 7-Blade and the 10-Blade mowers will cut as low as 3/8" and provide an unmatched quality of cut in all conditions.

Should I spend the extra money on the Honda GX-Series Industrial Engine?

The Honda GX-SERIES Industrial Engine is the Red & White workhouse which built Honda's reputation as the best engine available. Features include a cast-iron cylinder sleeve, ball-bearing supported crankshaft, and heavy-duty exhaust and carburetion components. The GX-Series is also equipped with the Honda Oil Alert System which shuts down the engine before a low oil situation can occur. This feature alone is worth the few extra dollars.

The Honda GC-SERIES Consumer Grade engine does not have these features and also has a lot of plastic parts, including the recoil starter, fuel tank, and engine covers which are all metal on the Industrial-Series engines.

How long will it take to receive my mower?

We ship 95% of orders from our Florida warehouse facility within 1 business day - shipping takes 1-7 days depending on your location. Most orders are delivered in 3 or 4 days.

Does the mower come assembled?

The mowers are 95% assembled and require only the handles and controls be installed. Plan on spending 90 minutes to read the manuals, complete the assembly, and service the engine by adding oil and fresh fuel.

What if I need help during assembly?

Who will provide Warranty Service if needed? The warranty ratio on Tru-Cut Reel Mowers is less than 1/2 of 1%, or about 1 of every 250 mowers. In the rare instance you should require warranty service, the engine can be serviced by any of the 7500 Authorized Honda dealers across the country. The mower itself can be warrantied at any lawnmower shop of your choice - just have them contact us for at our Toll-Free Customer Care line for instructions. Our number is (800) 992-0177

  • Where will I get the mower sharpened? Most homeowners can go 2-5 years before sharpening the reel unless you are cutting pinecones, leaves, sticks, acorns, pecans, walnuts, etc. There is at least one shop in each metropolitan area who sharpens reels - and just about every shop will know who that is if you ask. The local golf course maintenance area is also usually a place that offers this service.

    Should I purchase the optional Front Roller Attachment? If your sod was installed less than 2 years ago or you have uneven turf or hills and dips, the front roller attachment will prevent scalping and greatly increase the time between blade sharpenings.

    Can I speak with an Equipment Specialist before I buy? This is what we do best! We have more Tru-Cut product knowledge and experience than anyone. We have sold thousands of Tru-Cut Mowers and can answer any question you may have. We do ask that you please read "Choosing the best Reel Mower" before you ask us - as this will answer most or all of your questions and help reduce our incoming call volume which is very high from March until November.

    What is the best time of year to buy a Reel Mower and do you ever have specials, promotions, or coupons? From March 1st until Thanksgiving, the demand for Tru-Cut mowers exceeds the factory's ability to build them fast enough. We receive a large shipment of mowers every month and frequently sell out by the 20th of each month.

    How much is shipping?? We pay 100% of shipping charges in 45 States. Optional Lift gate service, if required, is $39. We charge no sales tax except to orders in Florida, which are fulfilled by our dealer network to expedite delivery. Shipping to California, Washington, & Oregon is deeply discounted at $149. Shipping to Alaska & Hawaii is $249.
